If you talk to anyone who's had a wedding, you'll probably hear that there is no such thing as a perfect wedding. Something always goes wrong, family disagreements, drunk guests, dress issues, cake issues, etc. The cake will be forgotten, the dress won't need to be worn another time, and drunk family member will sober up. There are two main reasons why you should pay special attention to which photographer is going to cover your wedding.

First you need to make sure that the photographer has a great attitude, and will be able to get along with all the guests. If your guests don't like the wedding photographer because he has a bad attitude, it will reflect in their pictures. A good wedding photographer is a chameleon, he/she is able to blend in without being noticed, be friendly with everyone, and remain professional throughout the event. You'd be surprised to hear stories where the photographer was more drunk than the guests...

The second important part of choosing a wedding photographer is choosing someone who not only has the technical ability (and equipment) to make it happen, but also someone who offers a wedding photography package that both matches your needs and your budget. Make sure to ask your prospective wedding photographers about the rights to the images, how many prints will you be getting, will you be getting images in high resolution, etc... The more questions you ask, the less surprises after the wedding.
